FMG has appointed North Otago’s Jackie Dalziel to the Associate Director position on their Board

Jackie, alongside her husband, operates a dairy grazing and cropping business near Oamaru.

FMG Board Chair Sarah von Dadelszen said the appointment supports the next wave of leadership within the agri-business sector.
“We really welcome the opportunity for an FMG Member to gain insight on how the Board operates and enhance the future capability of governance within the primary sector.”

The appointment follows the introduction of the FMG Associate Director position in 2022 and saw a number of outstanding Member candidates put their names forward.

“I know Jackie’s contribution as a farmer, an FMG Member and rural professional will provide another lens for the Board to look through as we work to provide a better deal for rural New Zealand through FMG’s advice and insurance”.

Jackie is currently a director for Waitaki Irrigators Collective, Lower Waitaki Irrigation Company and Dalziel Ag Limited.

Jackie has worked for Fonterra, Ravensdown and as a sharemilker. She completed the six-month Mayfield Group Co-operative Governance Programme last year (2023) and is passionate about doing what’s best for shareholders/mutual members, to ensure a sustainable future for all New Zealanders.

The Associate Director role is an unpaid position (with expenses covered) and does not include Board voting rights. Jackie’s first official FMG Board meeting will be Thursday, 22 August.
Outgoing Associate Director Dr Jolene Germann had held the position for the last 18 months.  The FMG Board thanked Jolene for her contributions.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed and valued the contributions of Jolene during her time on the FMG Board.   We are sure her capability and enthusiasm will lead her to many great opportunities in the near future” concluded Sarah.
